I’m an artist, but not in the way you might think. I leather
craft, play with yarn, and have a tendancy to be artsy fartsy in other ways. I
used to do some drawing, but it was mostly scenery and still life. Human shapes
take me eons to do, so I’ve generally avoided them in the past.
Recently I have taken up the mantel of Dungeon Mistress. I’ve
got an amazing group of players, and they have been very supportive in my new
role. It not only allows my creativeness to come through in a new format, but it
also gets our group of friends together on a semi regular basis for some
amazing times and adventures.
I began hand drawing these little diddies largely in part of the
things that I had to deal with as a new DM. Some of the situations that my
players landed themselves in brought a hilarious scene to mind in my mind’s
eye. It’s sometimes hard to picture it when you’ve got nothing but a few miniatures
and some stones for monsters, but I had to share with my players. Each of these comics reflects one of those
moments, and though I may have tweaked it a bit, they are largely accurate for
the situation that presented itself. If anything, I cut back the dialogue a bit
so it can be more readable.
